Thanks to the friends Gli Ultracani, i had the chance to write a story about friendship and music. It’s part of their Dolcihuahua project.

1- Origin and sketches

The story was written and drawn between Rome, Milan and Norway.
I wanted so much to talk about music and the kind of friendship that binds a band together.

the whole project is heavily inspired by “The Last Waltz” by Martin Scorsese
Heavy inspiration: Dr Teeth and the electric mayhem. God, do I love Muppets.

2 – Sketches and stuff

Trying out covers and a cool van

The final cover (first sketch). That set design is quite clearly based on the set design of The Band’s concert during The Last Waltz
I did like 20 color tests before I found something I was satisfied with.In the end of course I chose one thing here one thing there.
Like all bands, our heroes have a van. I wanted it to look like an ice cream truck, but in the end it just has a milkshake on it like Christoph Waltz’s cart in Django Unchained.
